Ten Easy Ways To Improve Your Fitness

October 17th, 2009 Andrew M. Nicola No comments

1. Let us start with some simple and not time consuming things you can do. For example try to park your car not directly in front of the entrance, so in order to make yourself walk a bit. Just take the stairs instead of the lift sometimes. You should always think about taking the bike instead of the car. And if you do not have a bike, think about buying one. Going by bike is actually also much cheaper than going by car.

2. Go for walks from time to time, firstly this is good for your fitness and secondly it is also very relaxing.

3. Try to walk with good posture. This means you have to put the chest out and the head up. This will not only shape your body but also increase your self esteem and spirit.

4. Stretch from time to time. Even a couple of minutes doing this has a very positive effect. Just try out how nice you will feel afterwards. You will never suffer under stiff joints if you do this regularly.

5. Cut down on unhealthy fats as much as you can, these make you feel so weighty that you will be less stimulated to do any physical action to lose them. If you consume fats select healthy ones like omega-3 fat acids.

6. Eat additional protein instead of fat and carbohydrates, you need it in order to increase your muscle mass.

7. Do some sports as free time activity, for example try out dancing or just gymnastics if you want to take it a bit more relaxed or choose something more competitive like football or basketball. Just check out how many different sports you could do in your region. You will probably be impressed.

8. Lift some weights, this is what you can do every day, if you do not have any time left for sports, you can still do it for five minutes. It is proven that very short sessions of sports also stabilize your blood sugar level.

9. Do mind body-exercises like Yoga, tai-chi or meditation. This will let the blood flow through your whole body and simply release stress and anxiety. It will also stimulate energies to do more intense exercises later on.

10. Start to write down some goals regarding your fitness activity in order not to forget the things you just read. It is also important that you start with small goals. If you aim to achieve too much, you might lose courage soon. So just try to be realistic about what you can actually achieve. Remember that small changes in your lifestyle can lead to a big change after some time. Just try it out.

The Arnold Schwarzenegger Gain Muscle Work Out

July 2nd, 2009 Phil Edgar No comments

In the sixties when Arnold Schwarzenegger started competing in bodybuilding competitions, it was a run-down, little known sport. Since then, it has merged into a multi-million dollar phenomenon – and arguably, Arnold was the man who started it all.

Since his bodybuilding days, and even before when he played soccer as a child, Arnold has always had a winning, strong mentality. Better known for his careers in acting and politics, it is clear to see that he has came and conquered whatever he’s ever set out to – and it all started with bodybuilding.

Arnold trained almost every single day of the week for hours each day. That was back in the sixties though, when people didn’t know half as much about building muscle as they do now. These days there are more effective ways of making your muscles grow.

There are many gain muscle work outs that you can from the internet, but for now, let’s just look at the basics, and the things Arnold Schwarzenegger himself was doing to prepare for his first Mr. Universe title at the tender age of 22.

First, I must tell you, that to gain muscle there are three key rules you must abide by -

* Training – You must have a very specific and strict gain muscle work out regime

* Eating – You must eat a lot and eat right

* Rest – You need plenty of rest as your muscles don’t grow in the gym, they grow when you sleep.

Focusing on work outs – three times per week is how often you need to train to bulk up. Stay away from cardio exercise (exept for a 5 minute warm up before you stretch) and take a day’s rest in between each workout. Only train for one hour per training session and work each muscle group once per week.

Workout 1

Deadlifts, Calf Raises, Squats, Abdominals.

Workout 2

Lat Pull-Downs, Bicep Curls, Bent-Over Rows, Lateral Raises

Workout 3

Abdominals (optional), Shoulder Press, Bench Press, Tricep Curls

For each exercise, complete as follows

* 2 warm-up sets of 8 reps (don’t work to failure) * Increase weight and perform 1 set of 8 reps (work to failure) * Increase weight and perform 1 set of 6 reps (work to failure) * Increase weight and perform 1 set of 4 reps (work to failure) * Increase weight and perform 1 set of 2-4 reps (work to failure) * Drop the weight back down to the weight of your first set and work to failure * Half that weight and work to failure

Keep this gain muscle work out. I can guarantee that if you eat right, get a lot of rest and follow this work out program that you’ll be built like Arnold in a matter of months!
