Benefits Article Submission

December 15th, 2009 Charles Bridges No comments

If you are hosting an infant website and wish to increase its traffic, article marketing would be the best possible option for you. It’s a simple process, you write as many and as better articles as you can and post it on as many well-read websites as you can. Most people don’t have enough time to take out of their already hectic time table to sit and compose an article; automated article submission can prove to e the salvation for such people. If you too intend to make use of automated article submission software, here are some things you should know.

An article’s quality is almost as important as were you post it as well as the quantity. A well researched article posted on a well-read article directory will eventually lead a reader straight to your site.

There are a number of aspects that affect the efficiency of an article, not only does the article has to be well researched but also well versed and efficiently composed. Another important that may effect your traffic is where you post your articles, no matter now good your articles are, if they are not read, they will fail to bag the necessary traffic.

Since your primary task here is of building a websites traffic, listing your article on just one forum would not be such a good idea, rather you should post your articles to as many well-read article directories as possible, though even that may not be enough. To be heard through the den of all the other people, you too will have to be louder, and that means quantity. You will need to post many articles over many forums to be heard. And here is where you should consider using automated article submission software.

Automated article submission software is the program offering a mechanized way to create articles without human intervention. Though their claim of being completely automated is somewhat questionable. To make the best use of this program it is crucial you understand its pros and cons. First off you should know that a fully automated article submission is NOT a good idea, there are things that require a humanely aesthetic touch and which a computer is incapable of. Think rather of the software as an ingenious method to save you hours of your time writing articles.

If you intend to make full use of an automated article submission software, it is recommended you take some time out and go through the article once, adding the human touch where required, considering the time it takes you to research and write an article and simply format an already written article, you definitely save plenty of time in the process. Nevertheless any number of short comings may still remain, due to the software not understanding the specifications of the article directory or due to your misinformed editing.

The article writing software is automated to the level of submission to many forums, the key note here is many forums. What you should find out here is whether any of those forums are well read or not. No matter how good your articles are, no matter how many articles you post, all your effort will be in vain if your articles are not read.

Though automated article submission software can be a great help in your endeavors, still it cannot beat the professional help you can be offered through professional article writers. There are organizations that exclusively offer their professional experiences if you need articles posted, you can get highly customized articles most suited to your needs that way.

It’s a great assistant, but it can’t replace your own manual contributions. Instant Backlinks MSN Live is late and I feel like I am in some gloomy little place whenever I go there. Don’t indulge in insider techniques; they are the fastest way to get black listed.

Best SEO Practices

Why does every website that comes on the online arena clamor to get search engine optimized? The main reason being to attract a lot of website traffic to their respective websites so that they can get more business generated. Therefore getting the website identified, crawled, indexed and placed in the top ranks of the major search engine results is the aim of every business that has an existence online.

Many sites stuff their pages with keywords in order to try and make them rank higher in the search results. This is however not considered to be an ethical approach to search engine optimization. It is detectable by the search engine spiders and if they pick up on it, they will remove your site from the rankings completely, and so it is important to keep up with the SEO techniques that are rewarded rather than penalised.

When web designers or search engine optimizers use techniques that are rightful, moral and approved by the search engines, this is known as using “white hat” techniques, whereas the other, not so moral and approved are known as “black hat” techniques. When white hat techniques are used and used well, getting to the top is simply a matter of time. Good techniques will prove beneficial and potentially very profitable for your site in the long term, whereas black hat techniques can seem to work on the short term, they can be disastrous for the long term.

SEO is an ever evolving field, and the standards set by the major search engines keep changing from time to time. Hence, it becomes important here to understand one thing clearly that search engine optimization is not a one-time solution.

Website owners will have to be aware of the SEO techniques that the search engines are using to index different websites and then incorporate them into their websites so that they get identified by the search engines. One has to stick to the rightful methods so as to have greater prosperity in the field.

Referrers and Backlinks in SEO

October 7th, 2009 Karolinna Maxwell No comments

Do you know what referrer data is? If you care about your search engine optimization (SEO), you should.

When examining your website, it is useful to know that a referrer is the website that is the source of a link, or perhaps several links, to your site. Every link on the referrer’s homepage is called a backlink, which means that you might look up this data and discover more backlinks to your site than referrers. For instance, one referrer site might have five backlinks.

When you’re talking about site visits, a referrer is the site on which someone clicked a link to get to you. So if you see the word referrer on your Google Analytics data, that means that a visitor reached your site directly from the referrer site.

So, there are two definitions. One version is that a referrer site is a site with a link to your site. The second version is that a referrer site is a site with a link that a visitor to your site clicked on.

An SEO (search engine optimization) company will probably want to report the first kind of referrer to its clients: Any site with a backlink should be counted in SEO reporting. This is because no one needs to click on a link in order for that link to have value. In fact, an excellent SEO company should work hard to make sure those referrers exist in adequate numbers.

Referrers and their backlinks help create authority for your website. The search engines interpret links to you as a way of saying that your site is worth reading on the subject matter. This helps your ranking. It’s as if I wrote an article about (for example) paper, and used a footnote to the American Journal of Things Made of Paper. The footnote is giving the American Journal of Things Made of Paper authority, by saying it has value to me on the subject. In this way, backlinks can improve site authority, and help you rise to the top.

People tend to assume that Google provides easy access to referrer data. It doesn’t. Using link:nameofwebsite.com in Google gives you only a small percentage of your total number of backlinks, although Google Webmaster Tools does a better job of this. I prefer to use Yahoo to find this information, and based on Yahoo’s data, I can estimate (or guesstimate) my Google data. In Yahoo, type link:http://www.nameofwebsite.com. From here you can filter the data for the whole site, for homepage only, and exclude or include internal (from you to you) links. SEO companies sometimes spare their clients this effort by including that information in their reporting.

Free Web Traffic – Possible Or Not?

August 21st, 2009 Rob M Hillman No comments

Getting free web traffic to your site can be a great way of promoting your business, particularly if you are on a shoestring budget. There are quite a few different ways to generate free traffic. Although you can get heaps of free traffic in a variety of ways, there can still be a hidden cost. That hidden cost is your time and dedication, you have to be prepared to spend a little of both to achieve a good result.

If we ever heard the saying ‘ it is better to give than receive’ should have an idea of what to do here. Have lots of free gifts that your visitors can download for free. Some good information email courses of pdf files will keep people coming back for more. Its a great way to get more free traffic.

Now, doubtlessly one of the best ways of getting free traffic lies through search engines and search engine submissions. This way is very time consuming, requires much dedication, but it can be well worth the effort. To obtain such traffic you have to be able to optimize your web site properly for search engines to find it and submit it to the directories. You also need to be able to build up its ranking positions, because most sites found outside of the three first pages of search results never get any visitors from search engines.

So, you start with good content, proper keywords and go on with constant link building, which is free and may lead to the top positions in the search results. It is a never ending process, because you have many competitors and they all keep working on improving their sites’ positions. But the traffic you get from search engines is very targeted and can reward your efforts abundantly.

As with most types of businesses, it is always costlier to get new customers than to work on your returning consumers. Getting free website traffic is no different, you must continue to offer some great giveaways and more information for your visitors. Make sure to develop a mailing list. This will make it easier for contacting them and telling them about more of your special offers.

There are always more ways being developed to continue to get free web traffic. It is mainly a good idea to keep your eye on the ball and continue to monitor which methods work best for you.

Does Auto Submission Damage Your Rankings?

August 8th, 2009 Michael Fleischner No comments

Wondering how you might be able to get ranked on top for a specific keyword? Thinking there may be a short cut or two? Recently I had the opportunity to work with a client who was also in search of ways to automate much of the search engine optimization process. I started the assignment working with him to improve his website design and architecture. Soon there after, we focused on building links to his site.

Off page optimization is all about building your web site’s popularity. Google measures this by applying their algorithm and rewarding you with a Google Page Rank. Once your page has Google PR, it can easily be compared with other pages in the same genre. This is especially true with new sites or pages that have very little history associated with them.

The first step was to make sure that the site had all of the necessary characteristics that would make it easily accessible by search engine spiders. After applying the proper navigation, meta tags, and keyword application we evaluated the site for size and loading time. After this optimization was complete, we identified a few key link building strategies.

A popular strategy that is used by many SEO professionals is found in directory submissions. The proper directories can provide one way links that can have a significantly positive impact on the search engine rankings for any web site or blog. For the web site I was recently working on I decided to find a submission service that would take the process of manual submission off the table. I believed that the auto submission would be as effective but require much less effort.

Within 48 hours of the site being submitted, the web sites ranking for targeted keyword terms dropped by more than 62 percent. I couldn’t believe what a detrimental affect the automated submission service had on this particular web site. Could this be coincidence or is there proof of the damaging effects of automated submission?

During this time period, my team was not focused on any other type of link building effort. Because the impact on search engine rankings was so immediate and so detrimental, I can only conclude that it was directly caused by the directory submission activity. I suppose there really are no shortcuts to SEO success.

If you are familiar with search engine optimization and building links to improve your search engine ranking, be cautious of automatic submission services. Whether it be for search engine submission or directory submission, you can damage your current rankings. Major search engines seem to be catching on to automatic submission sites and are having an impact on results. I still encourage you to submit your website to a small number of choice directories but do it one site at a time.

The Future Of Modern Retail And SEO

August 6th, 2009 Tom Norman No comments

Search engine optimisation is constantly moving at an astounding rate. All of the search engines are always updating their algorithm to try to give their users the best possible results.

For our part, we the SEO’s are continuing to prepare our websites so that they get in the way of existing search traffic. There always have been two opposite views of this; firstly that we are unfairly manipulating the results, and secondly that we are fairly manipulating the results.

The truth of the matter is this; without SEO’s to amend websites so that the SEs (Search Engines) know how to rank them, the quality of the listings would be far worse. We are a necessity for the SE’s as we ensure that the cream rises to the top. 98% of web designers do not know how to get a website to rank within a search engine, they miss out on all of the key indicators within a site and so some well built, beautiful, expensive websites are destined to live in Pay Per Click land or in obscurity.

I see so many clients who are sold expensive websites as the answer to their dreams, when it truth they are nothing of the kind. I see so many clients who wish they had spent thousands less on the design so that they could spend it on SEO instead.

A site that no one can find is of no use to anyone. Even in these times of uncertainty as profits are disappearing, the forward-thinking, business minded site owners will be looking to increase their market share, either by introducing new keywords to their SEO work, or starting up an SEO campaign. Shoppers are still shopping, only they’re a bit more wary of spending in these times and their numbers are fewer, but what websites owners and business directors alike should all be asking themselves the same question ” will you think forward, will you be proactive and succeed in taking a decent share of the market, or will you join the failure statistics of this recession?

The traditional forms of trade are suffering from the online revolution while online sales rose dramatically in just one year. From Christmas 2007 to Christmas 2008, online sales rose by 25% and the companies that are benefiting from this are those that move with the new technology and evolve to the needs of its users.

I think it is unfortunate, but the Internet will kill the British high street, and in the fullness of time, the retail park too. More and more, bricks and clicks retailers are seeing theirs shops used as fitting rooms for an online purchase at a later date. To a certain extent, we as people are shooting ourselves in the foot somewhat as once the shops are gone we will have to manage with just the virtual world to shop in…….. which isn’t the same experience at all.

SEO will be brought into common light by retailers having to save money while increase turnover at the same time. This year is going to be interesting as I think we are bound to see more big names bite the dust along with MFI and Woolworths. The question is though, what will you do ensure you keep your market share in 2009 and will it be enough?

Starting SEO principles

July 18th, 2009 Kevin Harting No comments

Are you willing to make it easier for people to find your company online? May be you already know about Search Engine Optimization, but the variety of the possibilities seem so confusing.

How can you make sure our site is noticed without going through long self education process on SEO? Well, read this article and discover some main SEO principles you should know to make it work for you.

First and foremost, think about focusing. How specific is your business? Do you know your target audience? If you cant answer these questions, you will find it very hard to differentiate your company.

Take the time to really get specific on what you are offering to your customers and you will have a much better chance at getting noticed.

Secondly, you should place your keywords exactly where search engines will be able to read them and to understand your website is relevant – headings, your images alt tags etc. If you want this to work, placing them only in content will not help.

Third, make sure that you have a strong call to action which will lead your visitors to click on to the next page from where they are. Google can actually tell what your click through rate is and considers your site to be more relevant if people are taking action once they get there. If you are unsure what kind of results you are getting then you need to install Google analytics right away.

Fourth, you need to make sure that you are linking to sites which are relevant and well known by the search engines. This means that you can have one thousand back links to just any site and still be behind a site which has fifty relevant links. The best way to build back links is to comment on other peoples blogs and to place articles on content delivery sites. Just make sure that you are connecting to relevant sites.

Try to implement these principles into practice and make sure none of them is missing. SEO is not a one day process and requires dedication and patience. Only then you will get your website ranked and will be generating more traffic and winning new clients.
